Light at the end of the tunnel
Updated: Jan 29, 2021
Life has almost always figured a way out!
Knowing a vaccine is on its way brought some light to this dark war. As a practicing front line worker I was up next to get my vaccine, I was notified by my senior the night before. That night I went home, spoke to my parents about it and clearly they were anxious knowing I will be in the first few taking the shot. But my dad was really positive about it and motivated me to stay positive about it.

Beyond that I did not think twice about its side effects or efficacy for two reasons. One, if as doctors, we do not believe in science, we cannot expect others too either. Secondly, if this was the only hope currently to end this plague, then so be it. The only unfortunate aspect is by getting the vaccine, we still may be carriers and potential spreaders. Hence, the importance of supplying and administering the vaccine at a faster pace becomes that much more significant.
